Off Island Essential Workers

Off Island Workers

Essential Workers are arriving and bringing vital skills with them. They are making sacrifices to be here to help us at this time and we are grateful to have them.

These workers are going through a full screening and review process before being permitted to enter Haida Gwaii. This includes:

  • All workers take the BC Self Assessment Tool
  • All companies provide a COVID-19 Self Work Procedure plan and a Safe Community Plan
  • All workers arrving from outside of Northern Health agree to self-isolate for 14 days, between their accommodation and worksite
  • All vehicles are given dash cards for their vehicles, to identify them at checkpoints
  • After 14 days isolating between work and accommodation, you may see these workers around town. They will be wearing their essential worker lanyards: say hello and welcome to them to the community.
